It could be a long, cold winter
Talking with family members at breakfast this morning (Saturday, OCt. 10) and the conversation about Congress and our illustrious government officials came up, as it often does. According to reports, there is a consideration being made to outlaw wood stoves, apparently because of the pollution problem.
If that’s the case, I have just one question – Are these people idiots or what? They sit in Washington, and wherever else their big homes are, and decide things like outlawing wood stoves. How in God’s name are the many people who use wood stoves going to heat their homes. It’s the only heat some people have. And many who use them do so because of the cost of heating with oil or electric. Come on people, let’s get real.
And then, I received an e-mail recently about a bill that is apparently being considered to tax every gun owner $50 a year for every gun they own. Sometimes I feel like Rip Van Winkle – like I’ve slept for years and woke up not knowing where I am or what’s happened to our country while I was sleeping. Let’s get a grip here. Talk about stealing our rights as human beings. I don’t care if it’s Obama or Bush or anyone else who is being blamed, we better get our country back quick or we’re not going to have any rights. The next thing you know, they’ll be making it impossible to purchase ammunition for our weapons. Ooops! That’s already being done, isn’t it?

“Right on with your blog; our rights are being stripped from us, and the current government is deciding which ones we can keep or can’t keep; and don’t get me going on Obama getting the Nobel Peace Award
”
Don, You have not been asleep for 100 years but if Americans don’t wake up and see what is hapening to our rights we are going to wish that we could sleep for 100 years. The general populas has been too quiet too long. Maybe we need a lot more tea parties.
I also don’t want to start on the Nobel wasted Prize.
